Started in 1998 ERM provides free housing for men and a community food kitchen. ERM has a history as a progressive organization and has established a faithful monthly-donor base.

To stay at the shelter, one of the following must be true:

1. Must be from Emporia, or
2. be released from Lyon County Jail, or
3. be released to the local parole office.
